A lot of people that love fishing are also superstitious. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about never taking bananas on the boat when going fishing.

I head out fishing with a hand full of bananas on board to try and test it out.

I think there is actually some science to this superstition. I’m pretty sure it dates back to old times where old sailing ships would be at sea for weeks at a time. Because Bananas make everything around them ripen quicker, it would make all the other food stored on the boat ripen and then go off fairly quickly.

As for my little fishing trip, I had a bit of a “Codfest.” Not the best day fishing, but at least I proved that I could catch fish even with Bananas on the boat.
